摘要 PURPOSE: A data transmission system using AAL2 ATM cells is provided to maximize the transmission efficiency of an E1/T1 link by transmitting AAL2 ATM cells in the E1/T1 link to connect a base station and a base station controller. CONSTITUTION: A data transmission system using AAL2 ATM cells consists of the first ATM cell conversion part installed in a base station and the second cell conversion part installed in the AMB of a base station controller. The first ATM cell conversion part comprises an ATM cell bus interface(100), the first multiplexer/demultiplexer(200), four AAL conversion parts(300), four UTOPIA interface parts(400), and four E1 interface parts(500). The ATM cell bus interface(100) receives AAL5 ATM cells from an ATM switch or the first multiplexer/demultiplexer(200) in real time and interfaces them. The first multiplexer/demultiplexer(200) executes 4:1 multiplexing for the AAL5 ATM cells received from the ATM cell bus interface(100) and 1:4 demultiplexing for the AAL5 ATM cells received from the AAL conversion parts(300). The AAL conversion parts(300) receive AAL5 ATM cells from the first multiplexer/demultiplexer(200), convert them into AAL2 ATM cells, and transmit the converted ATM cells to the UTOPIA interface part(400), The UTOPIA interface parts(400) execute UTOPIA interfacing to the E1 interface parts(500) for the AAL2 ATM cells received from the AAL conversion parts(300). For the AAL2 ATM cells received from the E1 interface parts(500), the UTOPIA interface parts(400) execute UTOPIA interfacing to the AAL conversion parts(300). The E1 interface parts(500) receive AAL2 ATM cells from the UTOPIA interface parts(400) and transmit them to an E1 link. If AAL2 ATM cells are received from the E1 link, the E1 interface parts(500) transmits them to the UTOPIA interface parts(400).
