PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfix member having a fluorosilicone outer layer. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus incorporates (a) an electric charge holding surface to receive an electrostatic latent image on it, (b) a developing components by which the electrostatic latent image is developed by applying developer to the electric charge holding surface in order to form a developed image on the electric charge holding surface, (c) a transfer component to transfer the developed image from the electric charge holding surface to an intermediate transfer component, (d) the intermediate transfer component to receive the developed image from the transfer component and to transfer the developed image to a transfix component and (e) the transfix component to fix the developed image at a copying base body by transferring the developed image from the intermediate transfer component to the copying base body, and the transfix component incorporates (i) a transfix base body provided with an outer transfix layer on it, (ii) the outer transfix layer including a fluorosilicone material and (iii) a heating member actuating in cooperation with the transfix base body. |
