<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain as a retrieval result an appropriate document of a 2nd language complying with a retrieval request by writing in a 1st language. SOLUTION: A 1st directory holding means 1 holds a 1st directory structure developed for the 1st language. A 2nd directory holding means 2 holds a 2nd directory structure developed for the 2nd language. A directory relation holding means 3 holds the correspondence relation between the respective directories in the 1st directory structure and the respective directories in the 2nd directory structure. A directory retrieving means 2 receives a retrieval request of the 1st language from a user and determines which directory in the 1st directory structure the request has the highest relativity to. A multilingual retrieving means 5 determines a document having high relativity to the retrieval request in a group of documents belonging to the directory of the 2nd directory corresponding to the determined directory.</p> |
