PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator having a high safety, even if a combustible refrigerant has leaked to the outside of the chamber in a normal operation or at a power failure, and the refrigerant has accumulated in a machine room in the lower part of the refrigerator, or spread in a room, in a refrigerating cycle in which combustible refrigerant is used. SOLUTION: In the refrigerating cycle, in which a combustible refrigerant 24A having a density greater than air is used, there are provided a diffusion fan 39 provided in the vicinity of a condenser 21, a charger 40 for power-supply to the fan 39, a sensor 41 actuated in interruption of a main power, and a control mechanism 43 for actuating the fan 39 on receiving a detection signal from the sensor 41. In normal use or a power failure, the diffusion of the combustible refrigerant 24A is accelerated not only in the machine chamber 18 but also in a room space.
