PURPOSE: A communication method of an immobilizer control unit and an engine control unit for a vehicle is provided to prevent wrong registration of identification number, and to reduce expenses by communicating VIN(Vehicle Identification Number) two times or more. CONSTITUTION: Communication for transmitting the encryption key between an immobilizer control unit(20) and an engine control unit(30) is performed two times or more. The engine control unit demands the encryption key on an ignition key from the immobilizer control unit, and the immobilizer control unit transmits the encryption key to the engine control unit. The engine control unit stores by receiving the encryption key of the ignition key from the immobilizer control unit. Wrong registration is prevented, and expenses are reduced with performing VIN communication between the immobilizer control unit and the engine control unit two times or more.
