PURPOSE: A device and a method for processing data are provided to enable random access for a random data block required for a microprocessor, without interfering with sequential video processing and without an additional hardware device. CONSTITUTION: In a video processing hardware(210), an interface logic(220) includes a start address register R0(222) of a data block to be accessed by a microprocessor, a data block size register R1(224), and a memory controller. The memory controller requests video data through the interface with a clock sharing logic(230), and stores the requested video data in a data sharing memory(240) shared with the microprocessor. The clock sharing logic drives a video data memory(250) with a clock frequency higher than a clock frequency of video pixels for sequential video processing, to perform access for sequential video processing, and accesses a video data address requested by the memory controller to deliver the video data address to the interface logic. And the clock frequency of the video data memory is at least more than twice the clock frequency of the video pixels.
