The system includes control units for actuating functional organs of the vehicle, in order to improve the alertness state of the driver. The control units are adapted to control the actuation of the functional organs independent of the detection or estimation of the risk of low state of alertness of the driver. The functional organs are equipment adapted to modify the ambience of the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The method includes measuring the variables such as accelerator pedal depression level, monotony of movement of the vehicle, and other vehicle driving characteristics, from which a variable representative of the risk of low vigilance of the driver is determined, and the functional organs are actuated to remedy this state of low vigilance or alertness. |
