PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device by which the development of a latent image on an image carrier with toner can be stably performed by having an excellent quality by suppressing the occurrence of a defective image due to deteriorated toner by enhancing the recovery efficiency of the deteriorated toner to a toner storing part storing fresh toner. SOLUTION: A circulation area forming part 413 consisting of the bottom part 412 of a housing member 41 and a partition 411 is extended from the toner storing part 45 to a regulating blade 48 along the peripheral surface of a supply roller 46 while it is separated by a specified interval Δ from the peripheral surface thereof. Thus, a toner circulating area R held between the circulation area forming part 413 and the peripheral surface of the supply roller 46 is formed. Then, toner circulation such as shown by a thick arrow F is caused in the toner circulation area R because the supply roller 46 is rotated in a rotating direction D3, so that the deteriorated toner is efficiently recovered to the toner storing part 45 by being carried by the toner circulation. |
