PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method by which a merchandise expense is transferred without inputting a payment recipient, detail information, etc., even when payment statement is not at hand. SOLUTION: This settlement system for a merchandise buyer to connect with the server system 1 of a mail-order retailer through a terminal 2 and to settle the expense for merchandise, has a bank server system 3, a bank log-in request program 9 for transmitting settlement information 12 about merchandise purchase transmitted from the server system 1 to the buyer terminal 2 and obtained by the server system 1 to the bank server system 3 on the basis of an instruction of a user, and a transfer instruction generating part 12 which is provided in the server system 3 and generates a transfer instruction of the settlement price to the account of the mail-order retailer from the account of the buyer on the basis of the settlement information 12 received from the terminal 2 and a price transfer instruction. |
