RECORDING MEDIUM FOR SUPPORTING SPECIAL FUNCTION OF MANUFACTURER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium, a recording/editing apparatus and its method to store additional information for supporting a special function of among manufacturers and a reproducing apparatus to reproduce manufacturer information for supporting the special function. SOLUTION: When a recording apparatus modifies the contents on the recording medium, the manufacturer identification code should be recorded. A recording/reproducing apparatus should check the identification code on the recording medium, before using its manufacturer information for the special function. Thereby, a determining time whether a manufacturer information item is effective is decreased.
