摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical scanner capable of accurately positioning a scanning lens without deteriorating the profile irregularity of a positioning reference surface even when shape in the effective part or the main scanning cross section of the scanning lens is asymmetric with respect to an optical axis and to obtain an image forming device using the scanner. SOLUTION: This optical scanner is provided with a deflection means 3 deflecting luminous flux emitted from a light source means, and a scanning optical mans 5 provided with one or more scanning lenses by which the luminous flux deflected by the deflection means is formed into an image on a surface to be scanned 7. In the scanner, one or more scanning lenses are provided with a plurality of positioning reference surfaces for positioning the scanning lens in the optical axis direction, and arranged so that a line linking points on two positioning reference surfaces or a plane formed by points on three or more positioning reference surfaces may be non-orthogonal with the optical axis, and the effective parts holding the optical axis in between on a main scanning cross section are made different from each other.
