PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply a coloring matter capable of providing an optical recording medium having high sensitivity even in a high-speed recording and a high-density recording, having good recording properties and capable of forming a pit with high accuracy. SOLUTION: This phthalocyanine compound is represented by formula (1) in formula (1), M denotes two hydrogen atoms, a bivalent metal atom, a trivalent or tetravalent substituted metal atom or an oxymetal atom; and L1, L2, L3 and L4 denote each formula (a) or formula (b) independently [in formula (a) or formula (b), X1 and X2 denote each a 1-10C alkyl group, a 1-15C alkoxy group or a 1-10C alkylthio group; Y1 and Y2 denote each hydrogen atom, nitro group or a halogen atom; (A) denotes a residue of a metallic compound; and (B) denotes a group bonding the phthalocyanine compound and the compound of (A)] and at least one of the L1 to L4 denotes the formula (a)}. |
