<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pearly luster pigment having a specified layered structure, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This pearly luster pigment comprises the first layer of the innermost layer which comprises a finely ground sheet substrate, the second layer which contains one or several kinds of metal oxides and is calcined together with the first layer to form a calcined base pigment, the third layer which contains an uncalcined oxide corresponding to the calcined oxide in the second layer, a hydroxide thereof and/or a hydrate of the oxide thereof, the fourth layer which contains an oxide of silicon or aluminum, a hydroxide thereof and/or a hydrate of the oxide thereof, the fifth layer which contains an oxide of silicon, aluminum, zirconium and/or cerium, a hydroxide thereof and/or a hydrate of the oxide thereof and is different from the fourth layer, and the sixth layer which contains one or more kinds of organic functional coupling agents. The method for producing the pigment is provided in the specification. The pigment is used for coloring a paint, ink, plastic, coating, and cosmetic.</p> |
