PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for correcting the distortion of a chassis which can improve productivity, cost reduction and a yield rate, and a device for the method. SOLUTION: A jig 2 holding the chassis 1, sensors 7a-7f which measure the heights of the six positions, that is, the upper surface of the guiding part 3 of an optical pickup, the bottom parts of the guiding part 3 at both tips of the drive shaft 4 and three positions in a spindle motor installation part 6, a processing device 17 which processes the spindle motor installation part 6, a computing device for determining the quantity to be processed and an electric- powered driver 16 which simultaneously fixes three vises 9 for fixing the spindle motor are provided.
