PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger in which combination of header pipes 225 and 226 and a plurality of tubes 222 is facilitated while reducing the labor, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: Header pipes 225 and 226 for distributing a second fluid to a second tube 222 or collecting the second fluid therefrom are provided, in the side faces thereof, with elongated holes 225a and 226a for inserting the second tubes 222. Since the plurality of capillary tubes 222 arranged side by side can be inserted collectively into the header pipes 225 and 226 and brazing work is required only once, labor is reduced and production cost can be suppressed. Furthermore, lead time of product can be shortened.
