PUMP LIGHT SOURCE CONTROLLER OF OPTICAL FIBER AMPLIFIER AND HYBRID TYPE OPTICAL FIBER AMPLIFIER USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A pump light source controller of an optical fiber amplifier and a hybrid type optical fiber amplifier using the same are provided to gain a sufficient operation band width about an input power change while maintaining a constant optical amplification feature with respect to a change of an input signal light intensity. CONSTITUTION: A pump power control loop(210) controls a pump power of a Raman amplification module for a lossless division compensation. A tap coupler(211) divides a part of an input signal. An optical detector(212) measures a signal divided by the tap coupler(211). An amplifier(213) amplifies a signal detected by the optical detector(212). An A/D converter(214) converts an analog signal amplified by the amplifier(213) into a digital signal. A processor(215) controls the digital signal from the A/D converter(214). A D/A converter(216) converts the digital signal controlled by the processor(215) into an analog signal. An adder(217) adds the analog signal from the D/A converter(216) to an off-set voltage.
