FALCARINDIOL EXTRACTED FROM PEUCEDANUM JAPONICUM AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE: A process of preparing an anticancer agent by extracting an inhibiting component of catalyst activity of topoisomerase I from Peucedanum japonicum is provided. Whereby, the falcarindiol extract can be effectively used as an anticancer agent. CONSTITUTION: In the process of preparing an anticancer agent, 4kg Peucedanum japonicum is extracted in 20L methanol, thus obtained extract is concentrated under reduced pressure, and the dried material is added with 500mL ethylacetate and reconcentrated. The sample is melted in a 50ml solution of chloroform and methanol in a ratio of 50:1, absorbed in a silica column and fractionated. The fraction strongly showing an inhibiting component of topoisomerase I is reabsorbed in a silica column and fractionated to give falcarindiol.
