PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lend digital data while protecting a copyright and publication culture. SOLUTION: A server for lending a book via a network performs a payment process of concession money relative to a right to lend a book to a computer of a publisher (a publishing company), and in distributing and lending to a reading device, the server collects a lending charge from a reader (the reading device), and pays a royalty out of the lending charge to the publisher. In order to reduce an effect to the publishing company and a book store, the server restricts a period of lending and the number of books lent at a time. |
