PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical device capable of realizing the adjustment of diopter scale without providing a mechanical movable part by using a reflection type optical characteristics variable optical element and an optical characteristics variable mirror or the like. SOLUTION: The optical characteristics variable mirror 9 is composed of a thin film 9a coated with aluminum and a plurality of electrodes 9b, and a power source 12 is connected between the thin film 9a and the electrode 9b through a variable resistor 11 and a power source switch 13, and the resistance value of the resistor 11 is controlled by an arithmetic calculation device 14. The shape of the thin film 9a functioning as a reflection surface is controlled by changing the resistance value of the resistor 11 according to a signal from the device 14 so that image-formation performance may be optimum.
