PURPOSE: A synchronizer for a manual transmission is provided to reduce the number of parts, to reduce the cost, and to improve shift quality by simplifying the structure of a positioning member and a supporting ball. CONSTITUTION: A synchronizer for a manual transmission includes a hub gear(51) coupled on a principal axis(50) by a spline, a sleeve(52) coupled on the outer circumference of the hub gear to be able to move axially, and a positioning member giving elastic force to grooves formed on the inner circumference of the sleeve with inserted in the outer circumference of the hub gear to be able to decide synchronizing position in the synchronous action of the sleeve. The positioning member comprises a curved surface unit to be fit into the grooves and a spring unit of a zigzag shape, extended to the lower part of the curved surface unit in one, giving elastic force to the curved surface unit. The structure is simplified by unifying the supporting ball and elastic member and making the synchronizing position decided.
