PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for foodstuff purchase support and a recording medium capable of effectively supporting the proper and rapid purchase of foodstuff when a user purchases the foodstuff. SOLUTION: A calculation processing part 32 reads the information on the types and amounts of the foodstuff according to the selected foods from a foodstuff information storage part 37 when the foods are selected and, based on the information on the types and amounts of the read foodstuff, determines the types and amounts of the foodstuff required for the selected foods. Based on the determined types of the foodstuff, the calculation processing part 32 reads the applicable information from the information on the sales unit stored in a commodity information storage part 38, compares the amount of the foodstuff included in the read information on the types and amounts of the foodstuff with the sales unit included in the information on the read sales unit, and determines the sales unit larger than the amount of the foodstuff included in the information on the types and amounts of the foodstuff as the amount of the foodstuff purchasable by the user.
