SOLUTION: The exhaust gas purifying device of internal combustion engine is equipped with the selective reduction type NOx catalyst for selectively reducing nitrogen oxide 37, occlusive reduction type NOx catalyst emitting and reducing the nitrogen oxide 20, means for feeding NOx catalyst reducing agent 38, 28 and the means for feeding occlusive reduction type NOx catalyst reducing agent 28 stops feeding the reducing agent, when the quantity of the reducing agent fed into the occlusive reduction type NOx catalyst 20 exceeds the threshold and the means for feeding the selective reduction type NOx catalyst feeds the reducing agent to the selective reduction type NOx catalyst 37.
