<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice processing unit that is connected to a Super G3 facsimile terminal so as to attain facsimile communication without the need for a large-scale revision. SOLUTION: The voice processing unit that processes a FAX signal and a voice signal, is provided with a voice compression section that applies compression processing to an input signal, a FAX termination/changeover control section that applies switching control to termination of the FAX signal and to the voice compression section to avoid the compression processing of the FAX signal, a detection section that detects a prescribed negotiation signal used by a negotiation procedure for FAX communication from the input signal before the compression processing from the head of the negotiation signal within a prescribed time, and a non-transparent section that applies non-transparent processing to the negotiation signal when the detection section detects the negotiation signal.</p> |
