PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a mobile terminal to obtain the best map data corresponding to the state of the mobile terminal. SOLUTION: Receiving position data from a portable information terminal 2, a server 12 edits map data read out of a map database 16 into a sort of house map for pedestrians and distributes it to the portable information terminal 2 when detecting a person carrying the portable information terminal 2, and also edits the map data read out of the map database 16 into a sort of road map for vehicles and distributes it to the portable information terminal 2 when detecting the portable information terminal 2 being mounted on a vehicle. The best map data corresponding to use styles can be obtained according to whether the portable information terminal 2 is carried by the person or mounted on the vehicle. |
