PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make improvement relating to the processing of a stream information recording. SOLUTION: Bit stream information (transport stream) comprising a stream object which includes the first data unit, the second data unit having one or more first data units and the third data unit having one or more second data units is recorded. The third data unit is constituted so that the bit stream information can be included in it, and the second data unit is constituted so that header information concerning the bit stream information can be stored in it. Then, the header information (12) is constituted so that information (AP-Ns) showing the number of the first data units (transport packet/application packet) in the second data unit (stream pack) can be included in it.
