PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup server by which a client can easily reproduce a past video image of a moving picture missed by forward/backward reproduction without the need for use of an exclusive use software program when the client misses a real time video image. SOLUTION: The image pickup server 1 provided with a transfer means 4 sequentially transferring image data photographed by an image pickup means 2 to a client device 3 as a continuous moving picture via a conventional network such as the Internet, is provided with a storage means 5 that sequentially updates and stores consecutive image data for a prescribed period in the past picked up by the image pickup means 2, an address revision means 6 that revises a read address to read the image data stored in the storage means 5 in response to contents of a request from the client device 3, and a control means 7 that controls each means above, and the transmission means 4 selectively transfers the image data stored in the storage means 5 on the basis of the read address revised by the address revision means 6.
