PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To offer a piezoelectric transformer which can utilize a high-power concentration of edge vibration to the maximum by restraining an influence of spurious vibration in the edge vibration mode so as to improve the operating reliability at the time of loaded impedance and by restraining heat generation. SOLUTION: The end of a piezoelectric ceramic plate (piezoelectric transformer element) 11 on the electrode side of the input side is determined to be a supporting position at the point where a displacement quantity of a spurious vibration mode becomes the maximum, namely in the center of a width. In this position, an upper terminal 17 and a lower terminal 18 support the piezoelectric ceramic plate (piezoelectric transformer element) 11 form both the front and back surfaces.
