The scooter consists of a handlebar (1) in a column (2) which has an articulation at its base enabling these two components to oscillate longitudinally. When the user manually activates the handlebar in a longitudinal to and fro movement a transmission arm (4) articulated on the spindle (5) at the top of the column drives a chain by means of opposite ratchet gears.
