摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphor useful as a scintillator of a radiation detector, which reduces the effects of compositional displacement at sintering as the disadvantage for the phosphor of (Gd1-xCex)3Al5-yGayO12 structure, has a very low afterglow and high luminous efficiency with respect to X rays. SOLUTION: The phosphor is an oxide phosphor, formed of an oxide consisting of at least Gd, Ce, Al, Ga and O, whose crystal structure is a garnet structure wherein the atom ratio (Gd+Ce)/(Al+Ga+Gd+Ce) is larger than 0.375 and not larger than 0.44, and an atom ratio Ce/(Ce+Gd) is not smaller than 0.0005 and not larger than 0.02.
