WATER-BASED COATING COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based coating composition capable of forming a coating film excellent in hydrophilic property of surface and stain resistance. SOLUTION: This water-based coating composition comprises (A) a synthetic resin emulsion, (B) a modified silicone compound and (C) an organic solvent. The modified silicone compound B is one or more kinds of silicone compounds selected from silicone compounds or the like represented by general formula I: (R1O)4-aSiR2a (I) (R1 is a 1-10C alkyl group, a 6-10C aryl group or a 7-10C aralkyl group; R2 is a 1-10C alkyl group, a 6-10C aryl group, a 7-10C aralkyl group or a 1-10C alkoxy group; a is an integer of 0 to 2) and the organic solvent C has <=160 deg.C boiling point. The modified silicone compound B and the organic solvent C are respectively included in amounts of 1-100 pts.wt. and 1-60 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. solid content of the synthetic resin emulsion A.
