PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately detect chemical substances. SOLUTION: A lamp 5 is arranged at a location, at which an ion-accelerating region 25 between an ion trap 9 and at which an ion-accelerating electrode 4 is not irradiated with vacuum ultraviolet light 7. The lamp 5 is arranged in a direction, in which the direction of irradiation of the vacuum ultraviolet light 7 will not match the direction of acceleration of ions 18. As a result, as the direction of drawing and acceleration of the ions 18 intersects the direction of irradiation of the vacuum ultraviolet light 7 at right angles, the ion- accelerating region 25 between the ion trap 9 and the ion-accelerating electrode 4 is not irradiated with the vacuum-ultraviolet light 7. Therefore, it is possible to suppress the ionization of a sample gas present in the ion-accelerating area 25 into noise by the vacuum-ultraviolet light 7. By suppressing the occurrence of noise, it is possible to improve the measurement sensitivity of a time-of-flight mass spectrometric analysis means 19 and to detect a specific chemical substance by highly accurately that amount.
