PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coal gasification apparatus for liquid fuel production with which a gas composition demanded by a liquid fuel synthesis side can be obtained. SOLUTION: In this coal gasification apparatus for liquid fuel production in which a coal slurry feed line 11 and an oxygen feed line 12 are connected to a gasification furnace 10, a gas purification apparatus 16 for purifying a formed gasification gas is connected to the gasification furnace 10 and an apparatus 18 for liquid fuel production is connected to the downstream of the gas purification apparatus 16, a gas composition analyzer 20 is arranged between the gas purification apparatus 16 and the apparatus 18 for liquid fuel production, a steam feed line 13 is connected to the oxygen feed line 12 and a regulating valve 13 for regulating a steam amount fed corresponding to the analyzed value of the gas composition analyzer 20 is connected to the steam feed line 13.
