PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method in which a separator for a cell is provided, where remaining sulphates in the separator are rinsed for a high capacity holding performance, at manufacturing of a separator for a cell by sulfonation. SOLUTION: A processing device is provided where a sheet containing fibers comprising polyolefinic resin is sulfonated before washing, and then sulphates remaining in the sheet are rinsed. Here, the sheet is applied with an ultrasonic wave at sulfonation for uniform and efficient sulfonation, thus the separator for an alkaline cell of high capacity holding performance is manufactured.
