摘要 PURPOSE: A multi tap power control circuit is provided to simplify a structure, consume low electric power, switch the power supplied for peripherals according to operation state of a computer, cut off the supply of the electric power to the peripheral in the case that the computer is in a power reducing mode, and operate a plurality of sub taps according to operation state of a main tap. CONSTITUTION: The circuit comprises a current detector(20), a rectifier(30), a switch control circuit(40), and a triac(51). The current detector(20) detects a current supplied from a power supply(10) to a main body by using a resistor(R21). In order to protect the resistor(R21), a TVS(Transient Voltage Suppressor) is connected in parallel with the resistor(R21). The rectifier(30) includes a capacitor(c) and a diode(D4) serially connected with the capacitor(c), and is connected in parallel with the current detector(20). The rectifier(30) rectifies the current, detected by the current detector(20), by reducing a power drop of the diode(D4) and switching sensibly the triac(51). The triac(51) supplies the electric power to sub taps according to the current output from the switch control circuit(40). In the case that the switch control circuit supplies enough current to switch the triac(51) on, the triac(51) supplies the electric current to the peripherals. The switch control circuit(40) includes variable resistors. The variable resistor distributes a voltage of the rectifier(30) to the capacitor(c) so that it enables the triac(51) to be switched according to the current at the variable resistor.
