PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal device for accurately grasping the condition of a line. SOLUTION: Every time data that are received by a modem 17 are subjected to DMA transmission at a DMA section 18 in the case of TCF reception during a facsimile communication procedure, an EQM value is read from the modem 17 and an average value is calculated. Then, it is decided whether the average value is equal to or less than a threshold that is set to a threshold table 21 or not, thus deciding whether modem training by TCF is conforming or not. Since the average value of the EQM value does not vary due to a little noise, the condition of the line can be judged accurately.
