PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an umbrella easy to store, which prevents raindrops on the closed umbrella from falling around and getting clothes or the like wet, has good operability when opened and closed, is reduced in size when closed, and has good appearance or the like. SOLUTION: When the umbrella is opened, an operation member 80 is operated through a slit hole 33, a shaft member 60, an end member 70, ribs 10, stretchers 20, a moving member 40, or the like are moved in an outer cylinder member 30. When the moving member 40 is stopped at a restriction member 50, the shaft member 60 is axially slid, and the operation member 80 is made to abut on the end of the slit hole 33 to be finally positioned on the opened side of the umbrella. When the umbrella is closed, the operation member 80 is reversely operated. Therefore, the raindrop-receiving side of the umbrella panel 1 is positioned on the inside and stored in the outer cylinder member 30 to reduce the raindrops scattered around, and when the umbrella is carried with the tip upward, the umbrella body stored in the outer cylinder member 30 prevents the raindrops from sticking to the surroundings so as not to cause trouble.
