PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator security system flexibly enabling setting of non-display of a car position display device in accordance with will of dwellers living in collective housing etc., securing efficient operation of an elevator by eliminating the anxiety of the dwellers and having a simple structure. SOLUTION: This elevator security system performs running control of a car 4 when a dweller A takes the car 4 from a hall on a reference floor 6 into which outside persons can intrude to a floor of his/her house. The elevator security system is provided with a key switch arranged in the vicinity of a panel 9 including a car operating panel 9 inside the car 4 and outputting a key signal when the dweller A performs predetermined operation by using a key 16 he/she carries; the car position display device 18 placed in the vicinity of a hall door 7 at least on the reference floor 6 such as a first floor, and displaying the position of the car 4 during the running of the car 4; and an elevator control device 1 setting the car position display device 18 in a non-display state when the key signal is received from the key switch.
