<p>A stator (1) comprises a stator frame (10), a stator core (20) and a spring (30, 40, 50). The stator core (20) includes at least one lamination (22) having a dovetail slot (24) formed therein. A key bar (12) is connected to the stator frame (10) and includes a dovetail (14) for engaging the dovetail slot (24). The spring (30, 40, 50) is coupled between a portion of the lamination (22) and the dovetail (14) to provide an electrical ground path between the stator core (20) and the stator frame (10). The spring (30) includes a leaf spring (32) that has first and second ends (32b, 32c) which contact the dovetail (14) and a central portion (32a). the central portion (32a) is connected to a base portion (37) which contacts the lamination (22). Alternatively, the spring (40, 50) includes a base portion (42, 52) that contacts the lamination (22) and prongs (44, 54) which project from the base portion (42, 52) and contact the dovetail (14).</p> |
