PURPOSE: A wireless communication apparatus for a WLL(Wireless Local Loop) terminal is provided to perform a bidirectional communication with a terminal and a notebook by applying an IR(Infrared Radio) serial port to the WLL terminal. CONSTITUTION: A serial communication control unit(420) converts data generated in an MSM(Mobile Station Modem)(410) in a terminal(400) for controlling a wireless communication into serial data, and rearranges received serial data. A transmission driving unit(510) converts a transmission signal output from the serial communication control unit(420) into an IR driving signal and outputs the converted IR driving signal. An IR transmitting/receiving unit(520) converts transmission data into an IR signal according to the IR driving signal output from the transmission driving unit(510) to transmit the IR signal to an other communication medium, and receives an IR signal transmitted from the other communication medium and converts the received IR signal into an electric signal. A digital signal converting unit(530) converts the electric signal converted in the IR transmitting/receiving unit(520) into serial digital data and transmits the serial digital data to the serial communication control unit(420).
