OPERATING METHOD OF CONVERTER USING LOW MANGANESE HOT METAL

PURPOSE: An operating method of converter using low manganese hot metal of which Mn content is less than 0.23% is provided to prevent hot metal from splashing off furnace mouth and keep Mn content in hot metal over 0.007% at terminal stage of converter operation. CONSTITUTION: In an operating method of converter using low manganese hot metal, the present invention is characterized in that L/Lo is kept between 0.63 and 0.70 at the initial stage of blowing operation while sinter ore is poured in an amount of 3 to 5kg/T-S; L/Lo is kept between 0.75 and 0.80 at the middle stage of blowing operation wherein sinter ore is poured in an amount of 3 to 5kg/T-S right before spitting is occurred followed by keeping L/Lo at 0.68; and L/Lo is kept higher than 0.85 at the final stage of blowing operation.
