The invention relates to the production of nitrogen oxides and the transformation thereof into nitric acid. The essence of the invention lies in that a catalytic oxidation of molecular nitrogen is carried out at a pressure equal to the stage of absorption of produced oxides with water (without taking into account the hydraulic resistance of the equipment and a pipeline after a contact apparatus). The energy of the endothermic process of the catalytic oxidation of the molecular nitrogen is transferred directly to a reaction zone with a gasflow. Catalytic oxidation of the molecular nitrogen is carried out at a temperature of less than 1000 °C, an oxidiser content in a gas phase prior to a catalyser less than 10 volume % of HNO3+NOx vapour and a system pressure up to 25 at. Platinum and platinum metal alloys or catalysers based on ferrum, cobalt, chromium and aluminium oxides containing promoting additives of refractory metals are used as oxidation catalysers. In order to form a gas and oxidiser flow, the atmospheric air and a gas mixture which are obtained during blowing a production acid can be used. Said invention reduces energy consumption and investment and simplifies the production process by oxidising the nitrogen and absorbing the nitrogen oxides practically at the same pressure, circulation of exhausted gases being excluded and the energy carriers being air or gas having the oxygen content less than 5 volume %
|
