The arrangement has an identification module in the vehicle that produces a trigger signal on successful identification of an identification signal. An electronic key (10) within the vehicle can be stimulated to transmit the identification signal. A control switch in the vehicle actuates a controller (1) that receives the trigger signal and signals concerning the gearbox selection setting (7), the closure state of the central locking (8) and the engine speed (5) and has outputs (2',2'',2''') for switching the main power supply and engine starter. Independent claims are also included for a method of starting a motor vehicle engine and for a method of operating a motor vehicle engine. |
