There is described a method for the storing of elastan filaments with a titer of at least 2 500 dtex in drums with a filament line length of at least 10 km with the use of a displacing device, in which the filaments are stored meandering in layers, and in which the filaments are inlaid into the drum at a speed of at least eight percent above the production speed of the filaments.
