The method for robot-controlled swivelling of a shelf (2) on a post trolley (1) comprises pulling out an extension (6) mounted on the shelf using a tool which grips its front rail (7) and moves it beyond the edge of the trolley. The tool then swivels it to its end position, pushes the extension back in and releases the front rail. Independent claims are included for: (a) a tool for carrying out the method with two hooks pointing in opposite directions; and (b) use of the tool to carry out the method.
