Electronic inlet and exhaust valve control system for internal combustion engine includes flow sensor in induction tract connected to valve timing control computer

The internal combustion engine (1) has hydraulic actuators (9,10) for the inlet and exhaust valves (7,8). They are connected to a valve timing control computer (20) and to a hydraulic pressure source (11). A second control computer (16) receives signals from a hot film air mass flow sensor (15). It is connected to a throttle valve (18) and a pressure sensor (14) in the induction tract. There is also a connection to a fuel injection valve (12) just upstream of the inlet valve.
