A voltage limiter arrangement has the following features: - a first and a second connecting terminal; - a semiconducting switch with a load path and a control connection, the load path being between wired between the first and second connecting terminals; - a voltage-limiting unit (10) with a first and second connection (12,14) whose electrical resistance is dependent upon a voltage lying between the first and second connections and whose first connection is coupled to the first connecting terminal. There is a current amplification arrangement (20) which is wired between the second connection of the voltage-limiting unit and the control connection of the semiconducting switch.
