Production of ceramic products comprises forming a material mixture made from clay and/or loam with the addition of animal feed as porosity agent; forming a blank using an extruder; cutting into individual lengths of brick; drying; and calcining. An Independent claim is also included for a mixture for the manufacture of ceramic products comprising a base building material made from clay and/or loam mixture, animal feed as a porosity agent and optionally additives. Preferred Features: The animal feed is used in an amount of maximum 5 wt.%. The animal feed is used as a fuel for ceramic ovens.
