It is found out that the physiological action of a specific DNA can be independently detected in the body of a mouse having a multiplex DNA pool transferred thereinto. This finding indicates that a DNA having a specific physiological action can be identified by successively fractionating a multiplex DNA pool on the basis of the specific physiological action as an indication in a mammalian body. This screening method has an advantage that neither much labor nor long time is needed as in the conventional screening methods with the use of transgenic animals or knockout animals. This screening method has an additional merit that a physiologically active DNA can be identified thereby even in case, for example, where cells producing the physiologically active substance cannot be grown in vitro or in an immunodeficient animal or in case where such cells are changed in the properties in the course of culture and thus cannot produce the physiologically active substance any longer.
|
