PURPOSE: A method for setting time for the manner function of a mobile terminal is provided to add a time setting function to the manner mode function of a mobile terminal so that the mobile terminal can be transferred to the alarm mode automatically if a given time expires. CONSTITUTION: In a standby state, a control part judges whether a key corresponding to the setup of the manner mode was pushed more than a second(100). If the manner mode setup key was pushed more than a second, the control part judges whether a preset terminating mode is the alarm mode(104). In case that the preset terminating mode is the alarm mode, the control part transfers the alarm mode to the manner mode by controlling a vibration/alarm driving part(108). Then the control part displays a manner mode time setting menu(110). If the user completes manner mode time setting through the displayed manner mode time setting menu, the control part judges whether a key corresponding to the completion of manner mode time setting was inputted(112). If the key corresponding to the completion of manner mode time setting was inputted, the control part stores the set manner mode time(114).
