PURPOSE: A radius change apparatus of a steering wheel for a vehicle is provided to improve steering stability and convenience by adjusting the radius of the steering wheel according to the body condition of the driver with installing a variable rim unit. CONSTITUTION: A steering wheel of a vehicle is composed of plural spokes, and a round rim connected to the end of the spoke. Plural rim changing units are installed in the rim to vary the radius of the rim, and spokes are varied according to the radius of the rim. The rim changing unit consists of a switch(22) outputting a driving signal to a generator(21), a motor(24) installed in a supporting member(23) of the rim, a propeller(25) rotating by the motor, fluid(26) filled around the propeller, and a spring(27) strained for increasing the radius of the rim by moving fluid in rotating the propeller. Steering stability and convenience are improved with adjusting the radius of the steering wheel by rim changing units.
